TANDEMANIA!
THE 2014 SCREAMER AND SEAVO: TANDEM RECUMBENTS BY RANS
by Randy Schlitter
When it comes to tandem bikes, touring is almost always the primary mission. Recumbents are naturally great touring machines, due to the comfort and aerodynamics. For 2014 we believe we have enhanced the touring aspect of each of our Tandem Recumbents.
SCREAMER

Now stock items on the Screamer are Terra Cycle idlers. There is a noticeable friction reduction, and therefore slight performance increase. Adjusting the timing chain is also easier, since the idler unit slides fore and aft to tension.

This bike is equipped with optional fenders.
Again standard on the Screamer is the Terra Cycle Flip it. This smooth acting piece allows easier entry and exit, and can be adjusted in tilt.
New for 2014, the double leg Kick Stand is now in stock. A mounting pad is integrated into the frame.
The traditional handle bar set up is still the favored style of the Screamer. This set up allows for maximum knee clearance.

Optional front and rear fenders come with mounting hardware.
Optional Tail Pack bag, is our larger version, slips over the top of the stoker seat.

Available Rear Rack allows the use of most panniers.
The Screamer is available as a frame set or complete bike on ShopRANS. Made in the USA.
SEAVO
Terra Cycle idlers are stock for 2014 on the Seavo, and the friction reduction and performance increase is noticed. Adjusting the timing chain idler is simple: just slide into position and tighten the clamp.
Again standard on the Screamer is the Terra Cycle Flip it. This smooth acting piece allows easier entry and exit, and can be adjusted in tilt. High Racer style handle bars allow for bar end shifting.
Stock equipment for 2014: a double leg Kick Stand, mounts to integrated pad on frame.
There is a wide range of seat tilt adjustment provided by the Captain sprint brace.
V-Clamps front and rear provide solid seat positioning and feature easy removal; just pull the pins and your seat is off in seconds. The clamp stays on the frame, marking your seat location.
Seavo seats feature a seat pan adjustment to allow optimum seating for Captain and Stoker.
Self-sufficient Touring requires panniers, or bags of some sort. Optional Tail Pack bags slip over the top of the stoker seat. Racks mount to the rear wheel and accept traditional panniers.
The Seavo is available as a frame set or complete bike on ShopRANS. Made in the USA.
